RENDERINGS

See the design before you build it.

We believe great ideas should be easy to understand. Plans and drawings are essential to the design process, but they don’t always communicate what a space will actually look and feel like.

PROCESS

Township Design uses renderings to bring a proposed design to life before construction begins. By translating plans into visual perspectives, we help clients better understand a space’s scale, character, materials, planting, architecture, and overall experience—before those ideas become a construction investment.

More importantly, renderings make the design process more collaborative. Seeing a project from a human perspective lets clients experience and respond to the design in ways that can be difficult from a plan alone. They give us an opportunity to explore ideas, refine key details, and make more confident decisions while changes are still easy to make.

A plan communicates the design. A rendering helps you experience it.

FROM PLAN TO PERSPECTIVE

Every rendering begins with a design.

Creating a successful rendering is about more than producing a beautiful image. We begin by understanding the design, the project goals, and what the perspective needs to communicate. From there, we build the environment, establish the most effective views, refine the details, and create the final imagery.

01 — GATHER
Plans, drawings, models, materials, planting information, photographs, and inspiration help us understand the project and its design intent.

02 — BUILD
We translate the design into a three-dimensional environment and establish the viewpoints that best communicate the space.

03 — REFINE
Materials, planting, furnishings, lighting, architecture, and other details are developed to give the scene its character.

04 — RENDER
The approved scene is developed into the selected rendering style and prepared as a finished, high-resolution image.

OPTIONS

Choose the right view for your project!

Every project communicates differently. Township offers multiple rendering styles and viewpoints depending on the design, audience, and purpose of the imagery. You can use services individually or combine them to create a complete visual presentation.

Design Illustration

Our signature rendering style.

A softer, illustrative approach that combines the clarity of a 3D perspective with the character of a hand-rendered drawing. Design Illustrations communicate architecture, landscape, materials, and atmosphere while intentionally maintaining the feel of a design concept rather than a photograph.

This is our preferred approach for most projects because it helps clients envision the design without suggesting that every detail represents an exact depiction of the finished construction.

Best for: Design presentations • Client approvals • Residential design • Amenities • Public spaces • Early marketing

Photorealistic Rendering

When realism matters.

Photorealistic renderings create a more lifelike representation of the proposed design, with greater emphasis on realistic materials, lighting, planting, architecture, and environmental conditions.

These images are particularly useful when a project needs to communicate a highly resolved vision to buyers, stakeholders, donors, review committees, or the public.

Best for: Marketing • Development presentations • Donor campaigns • Stakeholder approvals • Material visualization

Rendered Plans

See the entire design at once.

Sometimes the best way to communicate a project is from above. Rendered plans transform technical site drawings into approachable visual graphics that help clients understand layout, circulation, landscape, amenities, materials, and the relationship between spaces.

They can be provided independently or paired with perspective renderings to tell a more complete story of the design.

Best for: Master plans • Amenities • Model parks • Residential properties • Community presentations • Marketing

DESIGNED BY US. VISUALIZED BY US.

The rendering is an extension of the design.

Our renderings are developed from designs created by Township Design. Because we understand the thinking behind the plan—the spatial relationships, materials, planting, architecture, and overall experience—we can translate the design into an image that stays true to the original vision.

Rendering also gives us another opportunity to study the design. Seeing a project from a human perspective can reveal relationships and details that aren’t always apparent in plan view, allowing us to refine the design before those decisions reach construction.

The result isn’t simply a picture of the design. It’s another step in developing it.

See more before you build more.

You can add renderings to a Township Design project as the design develops. Some clients know from the beginning that they want visualization. Others reach a point in the design process where they want to better understand a particular space, material combination, or experience before moving forward.

You don’t need to know exactly what you need. We’ll help determine the style, viewpoints, and level of detail that will best communicate your project.
