Design Approach
A neighborhood park concept developed as a central gathering space for the Seaton Creek community, designed to balance active recreation with relaxed everyday use. The planning approach focused on creating a welcoming destination that feels connected to the neighborhood while providing flexible spaces for residents of all ages to gather, play, and unwind.
Key Features
The design includes a covered pavilion as the primary anchor, open lawn areas for informal play and events, looping pedestrian walkways, shaded seating zones, fire feature gathering areas, subtle berming for spatial definition, layered planting for character and comfort, and opportunities for future amenities such as food trucks or programmed community events.
Outcome
The result is a highly usable and memorable neighborhood amenity that strengthens community identity while enhancing daily life for residents. The park creates a welcoming focal point for Seaton Creek and provides long-term value through thoughtful, human-scaled design.
